Work hard and good things will come..

This photo is crazy!!
On my day off and in the heat, I organized my sewing room and oh wow did I find a ton of crap! I throw away two bags of trash, stuff that I just couldn't use or was never going to finish!

This week I put all costumes on hold mainly because my store dictator is having a baby! A little baby boy and today is the shower, everyone in the store pooled money together to get him and his wife something niiice. But me being poor as hell said that I'd make a baby quilt.

Two days of not stop work and at one point I fell asleep on it. That is right, no joking. I know its not prefect (to all those amazing quilters out there that I know!!) But its not bad for the first quilt I've completed. Plus I thought it was a bit more personal since I made this and didn't just purchase it.

How do we like the yellow tags?
I make little 'Thank You' tags for when I start selling stuff!

Well that is my little update!!

p.s. LOVE summer thunderstorms!!

I have this idea....

Yeah, this idea in my head that someone, out there on this planet will want to purchase the flower hair clips that I make or even the new clutch purses that I just finished.
A dream if you would that someday I could make money off of sewing. Sewing not want others want but what I want, I dislike the idea of commissions mainly because I don't think my sewing skills are up to that level. But still that is a ton of pressure on one's shoulders.
I find myself wanting more and more to be my own boss, which is both good and bad. Buut we'll see were that takes me on a late note!

So here are the clutch purses that I've been playing around with, instead of working on costumes!
Love my fishes
I've also been working on what I'm gonna be wearing to my birthday party/cocktail party. Tho I might change my mind the day of.

Pink!
The top still needs a bit of work but I re-did the belt and finally hemmed it.

Costumes for up and coming!!
  1.  Harley Quinn - Arkham city version kinda
  2. Sailor Moon - still
  3. Black Widow - Avenger style
  4. Hawkeye - Kate Bishop
  5. Hawkeye- Clint Barton for the boyfriend
  6. Joker- Batman for the boyfriend

Right so lets get to work people! That sewing machine isn't gonna stitch itself!!

Blithwold Mansion

Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum.

Our Thursday adventure this week was to the Blithewold mansion in Bristol, RI.

"Blithewold, a 33-acre summer estate with grand views of Narragansett Bay, is nationally significant in American history as one of the most fully developed and authentic examples of the Country Place era. The property features a 45-room mansion filled with family heirlooms framed by a series of lovely gardens than range in character from mysterious to exotic, and from poetic to workmanlike. An exceptional collection of rare and unusual plants, specimen trees, an accessible greenhouse, and whimsical stonework project a character that is romantic, fresh and inspiring – and unique to Blithewold."

Words do not do this amazing place justice at all. We took some photos of us having the time of our lives!

Living the Dream
If was one of our friend, Alex's birthday so I packed a picnic for us to eat on the lawn. It was probably the best day of the summer so far. The Blithwold is an amazing place to visit and I feel so honored that it is in Rhode Island, so much history!

Sadly we havn't allowed to take photos of the mansion buuut that just gives you more of a reason to go visit yourself!!

Happy Birthday Alex!!
Hope you had an amazing time!!
Love you!

Love summertime!! Love wearing sun dresses and showin' some skin...pale, pale skin.

Yeah so working on this... like three minutes ago and I broke the prefect pink zipper that I JUST PURCHASED! >_<

Still needs to be straighten out and sewn
Super pink sheets that I got on trip to savers, I also had enough material to line two medium sized bags too. You really have to love savers for the pure fact that you can pick up cheap, clean material for just about anything if you look around.
I didn't post these photos yet...
Huge silk flowers
Started making a bunch of hair/head pieces, I'd like to think that these are big enough to be head dresses. Mainly meant for a costume or going to a ren-fair events like that, maybe larping.

I got more flowers too! YELLOW ONES!

Almost Summer!!!

Right, its not summer yet. What is it the first day of summer is June 21st? Yeah that sounds about right.
I can't wait for June 30th, not only is my 23rd birthday buut one of my best friends and I are hosting a garden party! I am super excited about cooking and making the cakes for this party! We are celebrating all June birthdays at this garden party! We've been planning and making decorates for weeks, all DIY stuff too!

The cakes are going to be great! I'm making two quarter sheet cakes, one with all flowers for the women and since I'm only aware of two guy friends whose' birthdays it is, I'm drawing Iron Man on the other. It should be a good time!

I have been busy with making new bags to attempt to sell but I feel that the whole selling things online never seems to work for me. Ever. True story.
New hair pieces!!

Flower Hair piece!! SO pretty!
These are another thing that I've been playing around with some new hair pieces for the summer time! I love this look, must take photos with whole outfit on!!

Super excited!!

Providence what Cheer!!

Being born and raised in Rhode Island I feel like I know nothing about my state. So every Thursday my friend and I try to go around RI and learn something new, well at lest I learn something new usually from my friend. ha ha! And it is AWESOME! I love finding new things about my beloved state.

"Roger Williams Park was formed in 1873 from 102 acres of land bequeathed to the city of Providence by Betsey Williams, the great-great-great-grandaughter of Roger Williams."

Yesterday we went to Roger Williams Park, the Victorian Rose Garden was my favorite. I  counted this trip as research for my job in the bakery, because I always thought I was making my butter cream roses wrong. Then again I've never really looked at a rose while piping on a cake.

It was a wonderful morning relaxing with a friend surrounded roses.  But what impressed me the most was the wonders in the Botanical Garden.

Botanical Center - More information
"The City of Providence began plans for the Botanical Center in 2000. The Center opened its doors in March 2007 and was voted "Best Urban Oasis" in its first year by the Editor's Poll in Rhode Island Monthly magazine. It is the largest public indoor-display gardens in New England, encompassing approximately 12,000 square feet of botanical delights"

Next we went to Slater Park.
"Slater Park is the oldest and largest public park in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The park is named after Samuel Slater, a famous American industrialist who constructed America's first water-powered mill in Pawtucket. The park lies on the banks of the beautiful Ten Mile River and features the 1685 Daggett House, the oldest house in Pawtucket. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It also features an original Loof Carousel."

friends being silly in the gardens!
The bandstand built in 1917
Climbing trees!
"Slater Park Zoo. Early in Slater Park's development, a small collection of animals was put on display just across from the Daggett House. In 1916, this miniature zoo housed only pigeons, rabbits, and deer which roamed in a fenced run. A small herd of elk were in residence by 1936 but not until the late 1950s were any really exotic animals added to the park's menagerie. At that time some of the deer were traded for a lion, a leopard, an Arctic wolf, a baboon, two aoudads, and several monkeys. A series of concrete-block shelters with fenced runs was constructed to house the new arrivals and others soon to be purchased from the Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus. At one time, the City of Pawtucket had an arrangement with the circus to quarter numerous animals in the zoo for several months of the year. Its most famous resident was Fanny the elephant who lived at the zoo for more than three decades. Suffering financially, much of the zoo was closed in the 1990s.[3] Today, while many of the original enclosures are still there, the area now serves as a petting zoo called Daggett Farm. "

being silly!!

It was awesome! We had such a good time and learned a ton about the state! I've been living in one of the oldest states in this country, I should learn all the I can about it.
