Hothouse

ZOMBIES! haha! My sister, cousin, friend and I are going to a Zombie run on Sunday and I figured that I should get some practice in before hand. So for the past three days after I've gonna home from the bakery I'm been watching and reading zombie makeup tutorials on YouTube. Also I've never dressed up as a zombie before and I would totally do this at a convention, maybe next Anime Boston I can get a group of brain-rotted zombies stumbling through the halls, that would be an amazing sight.

The top photo is the first day following a tutorial on YouTube and then the others are me getting my feet wet with the things that I've learned. I was also watching some extras on the Walking Dead, no I don't the show but the props and zombie special effects are simple mind blowing.I will be taking lots of photos at the run and update here when I get the chance.

Also in the works is a camping trip I'll be taking with my best friend. We are shooting for sometime in the fall and I'll be taking my last week vacation. I've already started a check list of things that I'll need. Haha maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, we still haven't chosen a site yet. Oh well I'll keep everyone posted on the matter. Cheers!

Gladiator

I'm not one to rant about work on the internet and I'll probably never post where I work on the internet either. People who do know me in everyday life can use their own judgement on where this post takes us. I enjoy my work, the baking, the decorating, the customers, hell even the cleaning. I'm a firm believer in practiced what you preach. If I'm going to ask you to do, trust me friend I've done it before too.

I like to think of my co-workers as another family... because well lets face it I see them more than I see my blood family. I don't enjoy in house fighting and gossip, it brings nothing to the table for me. I'd rather be miles away somewhere in my imagination telling myself a story while I scrub the kitchen floors or load the ovens with fresh bread. ..

I also have a bad habit of caring about my co-workers feeling over my own... I blame my mother and how she raised me on that one. This weekend my boyfriend and I have a wedding to attend on Saturday. I forgot to ask for the day off.... I accept this as my own fault. Now the bad Meghan just shrugged and said 'whatever call out' buut there are only two people on the baker and myself. The good Meghan said on Monday 'hey I really needed the 10th off does anyone want to work for me?' and someone did. So now all I had to do was ask their manager to help a sister out. On Tuesday I asked the manager and he was more than willing to help me, we were talking it over in the kitchen when my manager over heard and say (flat out) no. That the 10th is going to be very busy and she needs me on (because she took the whole weekend off and don't get me wrong that is fine but I found someone to cover my shift). Mind you we were yelling at each ay this point, I was very heated. Its a wedding, a family wedding... the company I work for preaching about being a FAMILY company.

I should have just kept my mouth shut and called in sick on Saturday and no one would have been the wiser....but not had to do the right thing ... again. and look what that got me... must likely gonna be written up for the first time in seven years on Saturday ... and I'll wear that as a badge of honor.

Sorry about the rant. Really needed to get that off my chest..

I have been sewing.. promise no photo updates.
