Memorial Day

Memorial day weekend is not just about sales and cookouts America. And I am not going to say thank a veteran because all the veterans I know hate that. But I do thank them, every-night when I lay my head down peacefully at night.

On a lighter note the family did have a cookout and everyone bought the puppies so this is about to become a photo dump of black labs! I love all our dogs, they really are mans best friend!

Garden in the Woods.

Every Thursday my friends and I go on some kind of day trip or at least that is our plan for this summer, we are calling it "Art shenanigans of 2012".... tho I do believe I'm the only one. hah

Last Thursday we went to The Garden in the woods, I forgot how good it felt to just go walking in the woods with friends. Sadly these are not all the photos... I'm camera died. Silly me, so these are just I few pictures. The plan is to use these photos as practice before I start my watercolor series paintings.

I think the coolest thing about 'Garden in the Woods' is that all the plants are from New England and only New England. They even had plants and trees that are endangered and rare.

I was amazed and can not wait to go back!!

Best day off that I've in a ever long time! Plus it was a much needed art day trip to put me in the mood for my first big art project. deCordova is a museum and sculpture park.We had a wonderful time and for our next trip we are going to StormKnight, its in New York so it'll probably be a day trip.

Right so I have this list of costumes that I want to do and costumes that I have started ...which are a few. OH  I also have a list of costumes that are finished... from about two years ago and I have no photos of, so in the next few weeks I will be going over those costumes and with the gods willing I can find someone who can take some photos for me. 

Which brings me this, Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII I started this costume when the first photos were coming out for that game, I've been looking over it.... tons of terrible hand sewing and I remember the $20 target sewing machine that I used to make this costume. Oh My God. Taking photos in it,...but then I'm gonna rip it apart and redo than compare 2009 to 2012 skills. 

 I did just finish the boots, shoulder piece and the wig today. In 2009 I had no idea how i wold make the boots or the wig. Years later it seems so easy and now my favorite part.

Lets talk about the Avengers movie that JUST came out, OMG OMG OMG how awesome was it? Oh you havn't seen it yet?! WELL GO CHANGE THAT!!! Now don't get me wrong I had my doubts..I was worried about not have Ant Man, Wasp or Black Panther in the first movie. Then again we all know that they will probably be making another Avengers movie. Opening weekend $200.3 million! Joss Whedon knows what hes doing!

I couldn't get over Samuel L. Jackson being Nick Fury all I kept seeing was not Nick Fury but just Samuel L. being a badass ordering around a bunch of Super Heroes. Which I was complete comfortable with. Tho I still can't tell who stole the movie yet, I feel like I need to watch it again, its between Steve Rogers and Clint. Hawkeye impressed the hell out of me.

Hells yea we went to opening night in costume! I was kinda bummed out by the turn out tho, our theater was half full. OH and going to a bar dressed as a Ms.Marvel was kinda awesome!
