I see fire

Hello everyone! Hope your holiday was merry and all that good stuff! I had a very nice couple of days with my family! My other half is out of the state for ... its been a week now with his family for the holiday. I hope he comes home soon, I miss him. ANYWAY, I have a Legolas photo shoot in the the works sometime next week with armor one, stay tuned for more. I've got some of my work in progress photos too.

I got ride of the scaled ends..  didn't look good.

I've been working on this for two days now... I've reattached the shoulder armor to the outer jerkin and I've been working on two different styles of gauntlets ... we will see which ones look better in the end. (a little side note as this is going on I have also been re-doing our bathroom, in between paint drying I'm working on a piece of this costume) the chain mail under shirt I am cheating and just doing the bit that is showing.... tho I did have to re-do the chain mail from the premiere it looked... off. This chain mail is killing my eyes..... :( boo.

               Sorry that I haven't posted anything for awhile, I was on vacation last week and really did want to do anything but work on Legolas for the hobbit movie. That's right! I went to the midnight showing dressed as Legolas and nobody even cared, hahaahaa. It was really that exciting going to a midnight release, I remember the days when it was AWESOME and all the fans went. But now its kinda ... well lame. I don't know if I'll dress up for the last movie, but who knows.

This is my natural ear! Right!? totally an elf.

              I'm not gonna lie I kinda run out of time with the armor and rushed it at the end, it needs some more touching up and I'm gonna do a photo shoot with this armor. For those who have researched this costume you'll know that he has about four different costumes in this movie and the next. So I'm doing this armor and his traveling outfit when he is hunting the orcs (no that is no a spoiler). Also need to get lighter contacts, it might have been the bad lighting but my eyes looked black. mahahaha!

Well I've been pretty busy with work this week but I did find some time to work on some little things on Kidd. Kinda wish it was summer time because I know I'm gonna want to do a photo-shoot of this costume at the beach and its going to be wicked cold. >:D 

 I still can not believe how quick this costume came together and mind you I really don't know what I'm doing, hahaha. I've never taken a class on sewing or anything with fabric. ^__^ I also didn't edit these photos just wanted to see it you got the details in the fabric better without a filter on the image. 

I do still need more buttons... even tho the red slash kinds covers that section up, I would feel better if there were buttons there.  

Also my hidden blade should be in tomorrow! EXCITED! If I love it then after Christmas I will order another.. because Kidd has two. 

Well I'm off my throw together a Zoe Washburn costume for this weekend.

 Clearly I am in love with James Kidd and yes I will be wearing this Anime Boston this coming March 2014. Super excited and I am hoping to get in a good photo shoot waay before that buut who knows. So I did another test run with the make up today (I had the day off) and I also re-did the shoulders...again. I'm just not happy with how they came out the last two times.. plus more and more screen-caps are coming out everyday. (Not to mention I could also go and play the game and follow him around but whatever..) 

Okay lets talk about the scar, I was on the YouTube looking for make up tutorials to make fake scars (and not those crappy plastic bits you pay $10 for at the Halloween shops, I wanted something that could look real and photograph well.) So after some searching and watching some pretty stupid stuff I found a woman in germany who was using Mehron - rigid collodion "scarring liquid".  Amazing product! Simply LOVE IT! Feels kind strange at first but the scar comes out so well. It comes off well to, just peel it away.

Quick up date on James's jacket, just about done, still needs weathering and the shoulders. ^__^ Next up the vest and white shirt. Super excited about this costume.

Rhode Island Comic Con 2013

We could not have asked for a better turn out! Sadly some of our local mandos didn't make it in their kits but thats okay Super Mega Fest is around the corner. We made some new friends and met up with some old ones! All and all it was success.

Yes I some where along the way lost a foot plate... not quite sure where but that is okay I plan on re-doing those anyway,

Totally wore my Elaine Kenway (gender swap) Assassin's Creed Black Flag. It was really different walking around with out a helmet on. People could see my face, weird.

We had a ball tho!

Assassin's Creed Black Flag is more than I thought it was going to be, now I had high hopes that this game would be amazing and well way to step up your game. I haven't played much since we got it but I am going to hard this game, it was just so beautiful. Even the soundtrack and epic, can't wait to get more into the Kenway story tho!
