Summer wasted

No, my summer hasn't been wasted it has been a great summer. Minus the whole not going to C6 or Dragon Con this year. I've been wanting to go to DCon for the longest time now and I feel that every time I get some money saved up it always goes into another fund. Alas I still have King Richard's Farie coming up next month and I AM SO EXCITED! I can finally wear my drow costume out and about!

I still don't have any photos of Astrid, I know, I know.

Art trips are over now that the summer has come to an end. Everyone is back in school and/or has work. Tho our last trip was to the Harvard Museum of Natural History and the Peabody Museum.

It was a really cool day but the parking was awful! There was no where to park over an hour of driving around and around looking for somewhere are wasn't PERMIT ONLY parking. OH how annoying it was!! But thank god a spot opened up for two hour  parking right in front of the museum!

Storm King Art Center

Storm King Art Center

Storm King

Storm King is one of the world's leading sculpture parks, that should say enough about this amazing place but no for fifty years its gates have been opened. The collection of artists here is mind blowing, after three hours of roaming about the park my friend and I were exhausted.  On trip wasn't enough for us, we will be returning to Storm King as soon as our schedules allow.

These colossal sculptures are larger then some houses, never have I've been near such enormous pieces of art, never mind standing under them!  I really do enjoy how the landscape and the art made me feel small. Made me think about how BIG this world really is.
The wave field

We traveled three hours to see this park and neither one of us were disappointed, it was an amazing time and I could not have asked for a better person to share it will! Oh and on our little adventure after we let the park to find food.... that DAMN 'GPS' took us to someone's house instead of the restaurant we wanted! Oh how I yelled at that...that whore! .. What? I can't scream at inanimate objects? ha ha! It was a good time. Not to mention it also took us through some pretty shade parts of New York.
Needless to say I'm happy be back in Rhode Island safe and sound.
Still no updates on costumes... sorry I've been lazy!

Wedding cakes

Right so I few weeks ago my aunt was talking about a wedding cake she needed for the 28th of July, didn't say who it was for but the way she kept looking at her boyfriend, Tommy. I know something was up with the two of them, needless to say, yes they got married.

Just a small wedding in the backyard, it turned out to be a very nice and hot day July day and then it down poured later! But it was wonderful! Yes that is me on the left, the pale one in the pink. ha ha.

The flowers were done by my friend Alex, she did an awesome job and my aunt loved them!!

That is it for now, no pictures of the new costumes yet... working on it still. Not a ton of free time for photo shoots!

p.s. here was the original idea for the cake
