Dragon Age : test photo shoot

Morrigan turned into a toad.

when your warden gives you a golden mirror

So this was our 15 min photo shoot because I didn't know when the sun was setting and some of us got out of work at 5pm. So yeah we were just goofing over and having fun, we did get some nice picture but the lighting was poor. So work needs to done to Alistair before he can be worn again, the knees and elbows have to be re-done. All and all it was a good test run.

I'm your man

Alrighty than, so this was the first test fit we did and there are some problems, because nothing I make can go smoothly BUT this is why we do these tests! The shoulder armor isn't staying up and we have attached a strap to the chest amor, I am going to sewing some Velcro to the shirt to make it more stable. The waist armor fits but in the photo we didn't more the sides over his thighs enough.

The bracers are my favortie part of this outfit, I also need to get another belt and finish his knee and elbow armor. But we are almost done. SO CLOSE!

Return to the Darkness

I've also been working on Alistair today too. So here are some of those WIP photos.

Right so I have just about all the armor pieces make and really to have straps attached. I got the boot armor all set, you can see from the photo we did a test run. The Bracers are not the same design from the video game reference that I am using for the rest but I am happy with the way the "wood grain" came out. Those still need to be weathered but I think I got a lot done today.

Boot armor -2x (attached)
Foot Amor- 2x (attached)
Bracers - 2x
Armor arm bands- 2x

Pretty good for a days work. Still need to purchase a few things too.

Pants - Grey and brown (need to make chaps)
Belts- need two of them
Gloves- fingerless (also need to add small armor plate)
Boot cover - the armor plate has another smaller piece that sits on top of it
Arm / Leg / Boot  bands - 6x

There is still a ton to do and we are slowly getting closer and closer to RI Comic Con.

The Imaging

Hey everyone! I've been super busy with new costuming things and I am so excited at the progress so far! I've also get a few countdowns going now for RIcomic Con and Super Mega Fest both of which are in November so coming soooon. To soon.

Alistaurs updates back and breat plate are done.

So many soda cans.....so much hot glue.
Right so all I need to do for Alistair is the strapping for the waist armor and attaching the back plate to the breast plate. Also the shoulder armor needs to be worked on but I run out for thick brown foam. So that is put on pause for a moment.

I was also talking with a friend and she/ I agreed that we'd be getting a costuming pair for Super Mega Fest (SMF) this year and I totally forgot about it till I saw her the other day. SO that get bumped up the list because there are 101 days till SMF and I want us to look good. I've also put myself on work out scheule.

I know, I know. I'm the worst at sticky to these but I want my arms to look for this costume.

That is right Scorpion baby!

Sub Zero and Scorpion
And NO we are not doing sexy, female versions of these characters we are dressing as men. Binders will be worn, makeup will be put on , I will be carrying around a speaker with their voices recorded with catch phrases. SUPER EXCITED!

Craft foam pinned together for the collar

the frooont

Weathered, Heat sealed, Mod podged sealed, glued

collar isnt attached the the tunic yeet

needs some black weathering.
So that is after a day and a half of work, I didn't leave my craft room once I got home from work yesterday and today is no better, plus its raining so I don't want to leave the house today. Contacts have been found and with my prescription with is awesome! I'll be picking those up with my next pay check, I'm trying to make this as cheeap as possible. So far so good. The contacts are the expensive bit.

I will be helping my friend with her Sub-Zero costume in the next few weeks, I am excited. I can't say it enough.

Globus

Hey everyone! Last night I finally saw Ant Man at the drive in and I have to say it was wicked funny! I enjoyed that movie more than I thought I was going to, there were some serious scenes and then Paul Rudd just made them even better with the lightheartedness. Much needed funny super hero movie with nothing to do with saving the world.. well it kinda of does but meh.

We went to our local Rustic Drive In , they were doing some promotional stuff for Rhode Island Comic Con and there was a costume contest. So we went of course. I've never enter a costume contest solo before and it was nothing special there was no line up or anything just the judges were watching us as we walked around.  It was nice to see the younger anime fans out and about, should have worn Sakura Haruno instead. lol Na I geared up and up on my Warden for the first time and it went over well. No on knew what or who I was but that is okay, nothing broke and I can see function in the costume. All and all it was a good field test, Oh and none of us won. Lame I know.

I'm posted some pictures when I get them from a friend.

On other news I've been a busy little bee when it came to the boyfriends costume. I've been trying to push myself into getting one piece of armor done a day. And so far so good its only been a week and the waist armor is built. Everything still needs to be strapped together but its built.  Not sure when we want this outfit done for, I'm thinking maybe for October or November. Who knows maybe I can get him to wear it to Rhode Island Comic Con. Probably not tho, he'll want to do his ODST.
